  1. One thing I’ve learned to do with Korean saeguks is to Wikipedia the historical characters. Doing so helps me process a “bad ending”. I’m actually impressed when they weave fictional characters around historic ones or events. But then you know what to expect. History will play out as it actually did (unless they start making drama endings the way that Quentin Tatantino does and just change the facts completely). smh

  2. @junny – The ending of Chuno completely freaked me out until I thought about the events that, while not the main story, around which our characters’ revolved. Given Dae gil’s philosophy, it was a fitting ending. The same thing happened with Shine or Go Crazy (another Jang Hyuk show). There’s no other way that could’ve ended and stay true to the historical characters. As dissatisfied as we fans were, we would’ve really been upset had our independent female lead decided to live out her life as a concubine in the shadow of the queen and our hero’s wife.

      • Haha, no worries, not many people drop by here. Also, I think the ending for Shine or Go Crazy is kinda well-known. I didn’t watch the drama but did read about the ending and agree with you that it was in line with how the drama played out. As for Chuno, Dae-gil’s whole life was just misery, so I kinda expected the ending and thought it was better for him.
